ABOUT ME: Hi, I am Anya, and pictures just don't do justice for what a pretty girl I am. I came to the SPCA of Texas through a cruelty case and was very scared and fearful, with no trust in humans. My friends at the shelter have worked really hard to help build my confidence, and I am quite the different girl these days. Though I can still be wary around new people, with time, patience, another dog buddy, and of course, some yummy treats, I warm up pretty quickly! Now I love to play with toys and watch TV. My favorite thing is to be outside and run zoomies around the yard! Yards are fun, but the rest of the outside world is still kind of scary, so a house with a securely fenced yard where I can continue to work on my leash walking skills will be best.

DREAM HOME: I'm looking for a calm and quiet household with a securely fenced in yard.

DOGS: I would love another doggy sibling. Another dog is actually required for my new home!

KIDS: The little ones can be a bit intimidating. Adults only please!

FOSTER TESTIMONIAL: "Anya is such a funny girl, and it's very obvious when she is trying hard. My husband and I have
described her best moments as the ones when she "forgets to be scared" and lets herself just enjoy where she's at and what she's doing. She gets so excited and zoomy when it's time for her walk or for dinner."

Despite the rigorous testing our veterinary and behavioral professionals conduct throughout every animal’s stay in our facilities, other new and/or unknown medical and/or behavioral conditions may manifest in any animal at any time. By adopting or fostering an animal from the SPCA of Texas, adopters and fosters acknowledge at the time of adoption or fostering that they may receive an animal with an undetected medical and/or behavioral condition and/or that a new medical and/or behavioral condition may appear at any time in the future.
