Daphne
No Small Kids
Name: Daphne
ID: 43120135
Breed: Hound / Mix
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: 4 years 7 months
Size: Medium
Location: Foster
FOSTER REASON: Trust Building and Socialization - Daphne is overwhelmed by the shelter environment and needs a peaceful place where she decompress and gain confidence to help her become ready for adoption!

ABOUT DAPHNE: First, you'll fall in love with her looks. Her gorgeous red coat, beautiful amber eyes, adorable pink nose, and stoic expression would melt any heart. Daphne was rescued from a cruelty case in October of 2019 and has slowly, but surely made progress in being more comfortable around people, allowing petting, interacting with other dogs, and exploring her environment. She's been improving, but is a bit "stuck" and needs a quiet, calm space in which to grow and gain confidence! Daphne is not yet comfortable walking on leash and benefits from having a "helper dog" show her around an area. We recently discovered she loves canned chicken and hot dogs! She enjoys looking out the window and watching other dogs and people go by. She's a pretty chill girl and oh so gentle.

IDEAL HOME: Daphne needs a calm and quiet environment. She requires a home with a securely fenced yard while she learns how to walk on leash.

DOGS: Absolutely yes! Having a calm and confident dog in the home is a requirement for Daphne to help show her the ropes.

KIDS: No, thank you. Daphne requires a home with Adults Only.

The SPCA of Texas completes rigorous medical and behavioral testing on every animal in our care. The organization fully discloses all known medical and/or behavioral conditions, including any incidents of biting or violent behavior toward a human, to all adopters and fosters. Despite the rigorous testing our veterinary and behavioral professionals conduct throughout every animal’s stay in our facilities, other new and/or unknown medical and/or behavioral conditions may manifest in any animal at any time. By adopting or fostering an animal from the SPCA of Texas, adopters and fosters acknowledge at the time of adoption or fostering that they may receive an animal with an undetected medical and/or behavioral condition and/or that a new medical and/or behavioral condition may appear at any time in the future.
