ABOUT ME: Misty is a tiny little gal! Weighing only 30 pounds, she looks like a miniature Lab! Misty came to the SPCA of Texas in a case with about 20 other dogs in January of 2020. They were unsocialized with people and very fearful. Thanks to the hard work of staff, Misty and her friends have come a long way! Misty has spent time in a foster home and shown that she is able to adapt and become comfortable in a new home. She can be nervous about new places, people, and sounds, but with time and patience she is able adjust.

FOSTER TESTIMONIAL: Misty's foster describes her as gentle, independent, sweet, and intelligent. She has a sweet expression when she comes up for petting and likes to roll around and play with her doggy foster brother. She is a "lounge queen" and loves using all the dog beds in the home. She can often be found lying flat on her back with four legs up in the air! She loves snacks, does well in the car, enjoys going for walks, and is house trained.

DREAM HOME: Misty will need a calm, quiet space - preferably a house with a securely fenced yard, but a low traffic apartment on the first floor may work out with the right environment. Due to her timid and sensitive nature, Misty needs a home with adults only or kids over 10 years of age. Everyone in the household will need to meet Misty prior to taking her home.

DOGS: Misty may thrive in a home with a calm, confident dog to show her the ropes. She needs a dog who can give her space until she gets to know them, but eventually enjoys playing. Any dogs in the home will need to meet her before going home to ensure a good match.

The SPCA of Texas completes rigorous medical and behavioral testing on every animal in our care. The organization fully discloses all known medical and/or behavioral conditions, including any incidents of biting or violent behavior toward a human, to all adopters and fosters. Despite the rigorous testing our veterinary and behavioral professionals conduct throughout every animal’s stay in our facilities, other new and/or unknown medical and/or behavioral conditions may manifest in any animal at any time. By adopting or fostering an animal from the SPCA of Texas, adopters and fosters acknowledge at the time of adoption or fostering that they may receive an animal with an undetected medical and/or behavioral condition and/or that a new medical and/or behavioral condition may appear at any time in the future. Any pet adopted from the SPCA of Texas can be returned to us at any time for any reason at no cost.
