ABOUT MELINDA: My favourite thing about Mellie is how much she has blossomed as a foster pet. She went from hiding under beds to affectionate and finding her voice. She'll talk to you from the other room, come seek out pets, and curl up on the couch with you if she's in the mood. She's independent for sure, but that makes her affection all the more special. There's no better feeling than when she hops up on the couch and curls up with her paw on my leg as we watch tv or read a book. And it doesn't hurt that she's got gorgeous grey and peaches and cream fur and bright green eyes!

LIFE WITH MELINDA: She's super low key, doesn't scratch the furniture, and doesn't go after toilet paper or other kitty favourites that might cause a mess. She's always first to the door to greet me when I'm home from work in the mornings with a meow and a leg rub or two which is a wonderful way to come home after a rough shift. In fact, as I'm writing this and cooking, she's positioned herself perfectly to demand pets every time I go from computer to kitchen.

MELINDA'S FAMILY: I think Mellie would be happiest in a family without small children and parents willing to give her all the attention she wants (when she wants it!). She will have another friendly cat to play with. Her forever home will have lots of sunny spaces to curl up in, feather toys to play with, and lots of unconditional love with a mom or dad that will let her curl up against them on the couch. She's an amazing, sweet cat and deserves an amazing forever family!

HER FIRST FEW DAYS: Melinda came to me after having been brought in feral and pregnant and she just wasn't acclimating well in the shelter once her kittens were weaned. The first two weeks were rough with her not wanting to come out from under the bed, but with some food based incentives, we eventually charmed each other and now she generally prefers to be in the same room as me and will even let me pick her up on occasion!
