Chi-chi
Name: Chi-chi
ID: 44160448
Breed: Domestic Shorthair / Mix
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: 5 years 2 months
Size: Small
Location: Awaiting Foster
FOSTER REASON: Trust Building and Socialization - I need a patient and loving home who can give me a space where I can continue to work on my confidence and trust around people.

ABOUT CHI-CHI: Chi-Chi was rescued by the SPCA of Texas along with 18 other cats, which means she missed out on early socialization with people and still finds them a little scary. Chi-Chi has spent several months in a foster home and made great progress! She no longer runs and hides when her foster mom enters the room and will eat in front of her right when she puts down the food! Chi-Chi loves cozy spaces and looking out the window and soaking up sunbeams. She is still not comfortable with being handled or touched. Chi-Chi uses her litterbox and scratching post and gets along well with other cats. She can give other cats space, but enjoys playing with kittens!

FOSTER TESTIMONIAL: "She is really sweet and curious, and her personality has started coming out! She is a wonderful, silly little fluffball who just needs some time to feel safe and allowed to be a cat."

HOME NEEDS: Chi-Chi needs a calm and patient home with Adults Only or kids ages 12 and up who will understand that she is not ready for cuddles yet. Having another friendly kitty in the home would help her acclimate, so this is a requirement!

The SPCA of Texas completes rigorous medical and behavioral testing on every animal in our care. The organization fully discloses all known medical and/or behavioral conditions, including any incidents of biting or violent behavior toward a human, to all adopters and fosters. Despite the rigorous testing our veterinary and behavioral professionals conduct throughout every animal’s stay in our facilities, other new and/or unknown medical and/or behavioral conditions may manifest in any animal at any time. By adopting or fostering an animal from the SPCA of Texas, adopters and fosters acknowledge at the time of adoption or fostering that they may receive an animal with an undetected medical and/or behavioral condition and/or that a new medical and/or behavioral condition may appear at any time in the future. Any pet adopted from the SPCA of Texas can be returned to us at any time for any reason at no cost.
