About Me: I came to the SPCA of Texas through a cruelty case and was in pretty bad shape. I had been starved and had sores all over my body. Now I'm at a healthy weight and a happy, playful, peppy boy! I love my toys, comfy beds, and going on slow and leisurely walks. It doesn't take me too long to warm up to new people and once I trust you, I really enjoy petting and brushing. I spent a little bit of time in a foster home to get a break from the shelter and once I got on a routine, I didn't have any accidents! They said I was an excellent house guest and even did well when left alone.

Foster Reason: I have severe hip dysplasia, because of this I am on daily, life long medications. I also need a fospice parent who can monitor me for lameness (limping, difficulty standing from lying down, difficulty sitting). It is also important that I stay at my current weight and have low impact exercise such as swimming. Due to my medical issues, I will likely have to ride in a crate in the car or use a ramp/stairs. My current meds are working well for me and at this time I'm comfortable and very mobile!

Foster Length: I am a fospice pup, this means I will live with you for the rest of my life while the SPCA of Texas covers all of my medical cost.

Foster Home: I require a home with a securely fenced yard. I am best suited for a home that can provide me with a calm and quiet environment. My fospice parents will need to be willing to go slow with me and respect my boundaries as I can sometimes be sensitive about being touched in certain areas. Please bring the whole fam to meet me.

Dogs: I would do best as the only dog, but a calm and less active dog may be okay. Please bring them to meet me.

Kids: 15+ please

Special Note: I am a Fospice pup- that means you get to love me for the rest of my life while I remain a part of the foster program! The SPCA of Texas will provide all of my supplies, medication, care, and behavioral support! It is also an option to foster me temporarily until a forever Fospice can be found.

The SPCA of Texas completes rigorous medical and behavioral testing on every animal in our care. The organization fully discloses all known medical and/or behavioral conditions, including any incidents of biting or violent behavior toward a human, to all adopters and fosters. Despite the rigorous testing our veterinary and behavioral professionals conduct throughout every animal’s stay in our facilities, other new and/or unknown medical and/or behavioral conditions may manifest in any animal at any time. By adopting or fostering an animal from the SPCA of Texas, adopters and fosters acknowledge at the time of adoption or fostering that they may receive an animal with an undetected medical and/or behavioral condition and/or that a new medical and/or behavioral condition may appear at any time in the future. Any pet adopted from the SPCA of Texas can be returned to us at any time for any reason at no cost.
