ABOUT ME: I am a super loving boy and I am ready to let my personality shine! I might seem a bit reserved when you first meet me, but as soon as I have my leash on I am excited and ready to go! My favorite things right now are snacks, walks, and head scratches. I will try to slowly crawl into your lap to get the attention I know deserve.
DREAM HOME: My ideal home would be calm and relaxing while I undergo heartworm treatment. My ideal home would not have too many stairs to climb everyday since I am on exercise restriction, but some stairs are ok.
DOGS: Other dogs are great! Bring them by for a meet and greet to make sure we don't get too rowdy while I am on exercise restriction.
SPECIAL NOTE: I am a Fospice pup- that means you get to love me for the rest of my life and the SPCA of Texas will provide my care!
FOSTER REASON: Pops has an Oronasal fistula (a hole between his mouth and nasal cavity) that can cause difficulty eating and discomfort. Several attempts have been made to repair it, but his gum tissue is abnormal and it hasn't been able to heal properly. He will need to eat wet food and soft treats only as well as monitored for complications such as difficulty eating, nasal discharge and discomfort. Pops is also heartworm positive, so he will need a nice calm home while he is on exercise restriction. This means short leash walks only and no running around. My foster should be available to bring me to the shelter periodically for my appointments and they should be comfortable giving oral medication. Adoption appointments will be available by appointment only.
The SPCA of Texas completes rigorous medical and behavioral testing on every animal in our care. The organization fully discloses all known medical and/or behavioral conditions, including any incidents of biting or violent behavior toward a human, to all adopters and fosters. Despite the rigorous testing our veterinary and behavioral professionals conduct throughout every animal’s stay in our facilities, other new and/or unknown medical and/or behavioral conditions may manifest in any animal at any time. By adopting or fostering an animal from the SPCA of Texas, adopters and fosters acknowledge at the time of adoption or fostering that they may receive an animal with an undetected medical and/or behavioral condition and/or that a new medical and/or behavioral condition may appear at any time in the future. Any pet adopted from the SPCA of Texas can be returned to us at any time for any reason at no cost.Adoption Fees
