Location: Dallas
About Me: Meet Shadow who wants to be YOUR little shadow! Shadow was originally rescued from a neglect case and it was discovered that he was suffering from a deep wound to his neck. He was in rough shape, in a lot of pain, and understandably scared. With time, he learned to trust staff and is now social and friendly with his caregivers and learned to love petting and attention. He's spent some time in a foster home where he wanted to be around his person as much as possible and followed him everywhere. When excited, Shadow does the cutest spins and is super wiggly! Shadow benefits from having lots of toys to play with and keeping his brain engaged and mind occupied.

HOME NEEDS: Shadow is looking for a house with a yard or low traffic first floor apartment. Everyone in the family needs to meet Shadow before he goes home.

KIDS: Ages 15 and up, please! Because of Shadow's rough past he may not appreciate the hugs and snuggles younger kids want to give.

DOGS: We're not sure yet - please bring them to meet Shadow!

SPECIAL NOTE: Adopters get to take Shadow on a test drive! The SPCA of Texas will provide all medical and behavioral support during a trial adoption period to help Shadow acclimate to his new home.

The SPCA of Texas completes rigorous medical and behavioral testing on every animal in our care. The organization fully discloses all known medical and/or behavioral conditions, including any incidents of biting or violent behavior toward a human, to all adopters and fosters. Despite the rigorous testing our veterinary and behavioral professionals conduct throughout every animal’s stay in our facilities, other new and/or unknown medical and/or behavioral conditions may manifest in any animal at any time. By adopting or fostering an animal from the SPCA of Texas, adopters and fosters acknowledge at the time of adoption or fostering that they may receive an animal with an undetected medical and/or behavioral condition and/or that a new medical and/or behavioral condition may appear at any time in the future. Any pet adopted from the SPCA of Texas can be returned to us at any time for any reason at no cost.
