Thirteen
Name: Thirteen
ID: 46013225
Breed: Domestic Shorthair / Mix
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: 9 years 4 months
Size: Small
Location: Awaiting Foster
About me: Thirteen is a very sweet cat that has been with us for about 3 months. During this time we have been treating him for a upper respiratory infection that is not resolving. He is a chronic URI cat likely due to being sick for so long before he came to us.

Dream Home: Thirteen is on chronic medications so the fospice parent would need to be comfortable with administering medications daily. The foster parent should monitor for any worsening of the respiratory symptoms (open mouth breathing), decreased activity, decreased appetite. Placing a humidifier near where Thirteen sleeps would be helpful.

Cats: I need to be the only cat in the home or other cats in home must also have chronic respiratory issues.

Special Note: I am a Fospice kitty - that means you get to love me for the rest of my life and the SPCA of Texas will provide my care!

The SPCA of Texas completes rigorous medical and behavioral testing on every animal in our care. The organization fully discloses all known medical and/or behavioral conditions, including any incidents of biting or violent behavior toward a human, to all adopters and fosters. Despite the rigorous testing our veterinary and behavioral professionals conduct throughout every animal’s stay in our facilities, other new and/or unknown medical and/or behavioral conditions may manifest in any animal at any time. By adopting or fostering an animal from the SPCA of Texas, adopters and fosters acknowledge at the time of adoption or fostering that they may receive an animal with an undetected medical and/or behavioral condition and/or that a new medical and/or behavioral condition may appear at any time in the future. Any pet adopted from the SPCA of Texas can be returned to us at any time for any reason at no cost.
