ABOUT ME: Hello youngsters! You can call me Mom! I'm a very sweet, shy girl who came to the SPCA of Texas from a bad situation. I'm ready to find a comfy place to snooze and a human to feed me treats while I recover! Will you help me?

BEHAVIOR: I would love a foster who can help me feel more confident. My family will need to give me space and let me approach on my own terms. I get uncomfortable when people reach out to pet me before I'm ready. I'll freeze up or flinch when people reach out to touch me and need patient people who won't push me too fast. I'm also not so sure how to walk on a leash yet, so I'll need a quiet spot in the home with easy access to a backyard where I can do my business.

MEDICAL: I am heartworm positive and due to my age, I am in need of a 3 injection treatment. My injections are slated to begin in the middle of May and will last for about 2 months. My foster family will have to be comfortable with administering oral medications and be able to bring my back to the shelter for my treatments and rechecks.

FOSTER HOME: I need a calm, quiet home with a securely fenced yard or a low-traffic first floor apartment as I'm still working on my leash-walking skills! Any kids in my foster home should be 15+ and I would like to meet everyone, including any other dogs, before going home.

FOSTER LENGTH: At least until my heartworm treatment is complete. Ideally until I am adopted.

SPECIAL NOTE: While I am not yet available for adoption, I am eligible for foster-to-adopt! While a foster, the SPCA provides everything I need!

The SPCA of Texas completes rigorous medical and behavioral testing on every animal in our care. The organization fully discloses all known medical and/or behavioral conditions, including any incidents of biting or violent behavior toward a human, to all adopters and fosters. Despite the rigorous testing our veterinary and behavioral professionals conduct throughout every animal’s stay in our facilities, other new and/or unknown medical and/or behavioral conditions may manifest in any animal at any time. By adopting or fostering an animal from the SPCA of Texas, adopters and fosters acknowledge at the time of adoption or fostering that they may receive an animal with an undetected medical and/or behavioral condition and/or that a new medical and/or behavioral condition may appear at any time in the future. Any pet adopted from the SPCA of Texas can be returned to us at any time for any reason at no cost.
