Age: 13 years 5 months
Size: Large
Location: Awaiting Foster
About Me: Hi, I'm Polly. I am an old lady, but age is just a number. I came to the SPCA in February through a hoarding case, because of this I am shy when meeting new people. I can take sometime to warm up.

Foster Reason: I am waiting to begin my heartworm treatment, so I'd love a nice calm home while I am on exercise restriction! This means short leash walks only and no running around. I will begin my heartworm treatment at the end of may.

Foster Length: Until the beginning of July, or I am adopted.

Foster Home: Ideally I would like a foster home with a securely fence yard, as I am still learning to walk on a leash. However a low traffic apartment on the first floor with a designated walking area may by good. I need a home with no kids under the age of 10, but ideally a home with older children or just adults. I will also need to meet everyone in the home before going home with you.

Dogs: Sure, Bring them for a meet and greet.

Kids: No kids under 10 for me! All other members of the house hold need to meet me before you take me home.

Special Note: While I am not yet available for adoption, I am available for Foster-to-adopt. While a foster, the SPCA provides everything I need!

The SPCA of Texas completes rigorous medical and behavioral testing on every animal in our care. The organization fully discloses all known medical and/or behavioral conditions, including any incidents of biting or violent behavior toward a human, to all adopters and fosters. Despite the rigorous testing our veterinary and behavioral professionals conduct throughout every animal’s stay in our facilities, other new and/or unknown medical and/or behavioral conditions may manifest in any animal at any time. By adopting or fostering an animal from the SPCA of Texas, adopters and fosters acknowledge at the time of adoption or fostering that they may receive an animal with an undetected medical and/or behavioral condition and/or that a new medical and/or behavioral condition may appear at any time in the future. Any pet adopted from the SPCA of Texas can be returned to us at any time for any reason at no cost.
