Find your perfect pet with Pet Alert!

Name: Boogey
ID: 46843623
Breed: Mixed Breed, Large (over 44 lbs fully grown) / Mix
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: 14 years 5 months
Size: Large
Location: Awaiting Foster

FOSTER REASON: I had a growth removed that came back as perianal Carcinoma (cancerous tumor removed from rectum). I also have arthritis and allergies. The type of cancer that was removed is likely to have already spread to other areas of my body. I will likely have a very good quality of life for some time (months to year+), but it is just not possible to know exactly how long.

ABOUT ME: My name is Boogey because I like to prance around. The staff think its very cute, I just think they can't hear the music! I am a little timid at first but I do enjoy treats. I also love spending time outside with my human friends and playing with my toys!

MEDICAL SCHEDULE: I am taking daily medications, but I should only have to come back to the SPCA for my preventative care (couple times yearly).

FOSTER HOME REQUIREMENTS: I have no limitations, I am medically cleared to be around other animals. I do need a foster home where I can be monitored for recurrence of a mass on the left side of my rectum.

Special Note: I am Fospice pup- that means you get to love me for the rest of my life while I remain a part of our foster program! The SPCA of Texas will provide all of his supplies, medication, care and behavioral support! It is also an option to foster him temporarily until a forever Fospice can be found.

The SPCA of Texas completes rigorous medical and behavioral testing on every animal in our care. The organization fully discloses all known medical and/or behavioral conditions, including any incidents of biting or violent behavior toward a human, to all adopters and fosters. Despite the rigorous testing our veterinary and behavioral professionals conduct throughout every animal’s stay in our facilities, other new and/or unknown medical and/or behavioral conditions may manifest in any animal at any time. By adopting or fostering an animal from the SPCA of Texas, adopters and fosters acknowledge at the time of adoption or fostering that they may receive an animal with an undetected medical and/or behavioral condition and/or that a new medical and/or behavioral condition may appear at any time in the future. Any pet adopted from the SPCA of Texas can be returned to us at any time for any reason at no cost.
