Name: Swayze
ID: 48025901
Breed: Terrier, American Pit Bull / Mix
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: 3 years 1 month
Size: Large
Location: Awaiting Foster
About Me: Hi, my name is Swayze. I came to the SPCA as a stray so not much is known about my past. I love everyone I see and I get so excited that my whole body wags.

Foster Reason: I am heartworm positive and will be going through heartworm treatment. I will need to come back to the SPCA for my heartworm treatment. I will also need to be kept calm and have leash walks only.

Foster Length: Until I complete my heartworm treatment, ideally until I am adopted.

Foster Home: I would love a home with a securely fenced yard, although a low traffic apartment would be nice as well. I will need a home where my foster parents are comfortable with giving me daily medications, and keeping me calm.

Dogs: I currently have a little cold and hope to be cleared by July 12th. Until then, I need to be the only pup in the home.

Special Note: While I am not yet available for adoption, I am available for foster-to-adopt!

The SPCA of Texas completes rigorous medical and behavioral testing on every animal in our care. The organization fully discloses all known medical and/or behavioral conditions, including any incidents of biting or violent behavior toward a human, to all adopters and fosters. Despite the rigorous testing our veterinary and behavioral professionals conduct throughout every animal’s stay in our facilities, other new and/or unknown medical and/or behavioral conditions may manifest in any animal at any time. By adopting or fostering an animal from the SPCA of Texas, adopters and fosters acknowledge at the time of adoption or fostering that they may receive an animal with an undetected medical and/or behavioral condition and/or that a new medical and/or behavioral condition may appear at any time in the future. Any pet adopted from the SPCA of Texas can be returned to us at any time for any reason at no cost.
