No Small Kids
Name: Iris
ID: 48260886
Breed: Shepherd / Mix
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: 5 months
Size: Large
Location: Awaiting Foster
FOSTER REASON: Trust Building and Socialization - I'm in need of a foster who can help me build up my confidence!

ABOUT ME: I came in with my littermates when we were found as strays. Unfortunately, I am very undersocialized and need a foster home to help me work on this. Maybe they can even teach me to walk on leash!?

FOSTER REQUIREMENTS: I'm looking for a very calm, quiet home with no kids under five. I am best suited for a home with older teens and adults, but willing to meet some kiddos. My ideal home is one with a securely fenced yard, however, I am willing to try a first-floor apartment with easy access to grassy areas.

DOGS: It would be really helpful to have a friendly dog in the home who can model confident behaviors for me! It isn't required, though.

FOSTER COMMITMENT: 8 weeks or until adopted!

SPECIAL NOTE: While I am not yet ready for adoption, I am eligible for foster-to-adopt!

The SPCA of Texas completes rigorous medical and behavioral testing on every animal in our care. The organization fully discloses all known medical and/or behavioral conditions, including any incidents of biting or violent behavior toward a human, to all adopters and fosters. Despite the rigorous testing our veterinary and behavioral professionals conduct throughout every animal’s stay in our facilities, other new and/or unknown medical and/or behavioral conditions may manifest in any animal at any time. By adopting or fostering an animal from the SPCA of Texas, adopters and fosters acknowledge at the time of adoption or fostering that they may receive an animal with an undetected medical and/or behavioral condition and/or that a new medical and/or behavioral condition may appear at any time in the future. Any pet adopted from the SPCA of Texas can be returned to us at any time for any reason at no cost.
