ABOUT ME: Go, Diego, Go! This Diego isn't quite the adventurous explorer, but he DOES love the great big world of his backyard! He hasn't gotten very far beyond that, but mostly because he's a very exacting adventurer who must sniff every blade of grass along the way. Diego came to the SPCA of Texas back in October of 2019 along with over 25 of his little dog friends. It was a rough start in life, but Diego has been healing physically and emotionally since then and is learning to trust people and now enjoys having his head and ears rubbed by his foster mom! Although he's not the cuddly type, Diego loves to play with his canine foster siblings and toys. He's very creative and can turn just about any object left laying about into something for playtime.
FOSTER TESTIMONIAL: "He is very playful with the other dogs and when he runs in the back yard, he 'throws his head back and takes off.' It's so cute. I love it when he will come and get a little closer so you can pet him again."
IDEAL HOME: A calm and quiet household with a securely fenced in yard is required.
DOGS: Yes! Diego requires another friendly dog in the home to help him trust and gain confidence.
KIDS: No, thanks. Diego requires a home that is Adults Only.
SPECIAL NOTE: Adopters get to take Diego on a test drive! The SPCA of Texas will provide all medical and behavioral support during a trial adoption period to help ensure a successful transition to a new home.

Adoption appointments will be available by appointment only.
The SPCA of Texas completes rigorous medical and behavioral testing on every animal in our care. The organization fully discloses all known medical and/or behavioral conditions, including any incidents of biting or violent behavior toward a human, to all adopters and fosters. Despite the rigorous testing our veterinary and behavioral professionals conduct throughout every animal’s stay in our facilities, other new and/or unknown medical and/or behavioral conditions may manifest in any animal at any time. By adopting or fostering an animal from the SPCA of Texas, adopters and fosters acknowledge at the time of adoption or fostering that they may receive an animal with an undetected medical and/or behavioral condition and/or that a new medical and/or behavioral condition may appear at any time in the future. Any pet adopted from the SPCA of Texas can be returned to us at any time for any reason at no cost.Adoption Fees
Adoption fees vary based on the age of the animal. We offer special promotions and discounts throughout the year.
