Ellis County Stray Animals

If you do not see your animal here, they may be at our Dallas Facility. Please click the Dallas button above to check!

If you live in Ellis County and you have lost your pet, contact animal control within your city first. Some cities within Ellis County have their own shelters or have made arrangements with a nearby veterinary clinic to house their strays. However, some cities such as Palmer, Maypearl, Italy, Ennis, and Venus, as well as the Ellis County Sheriff’s department, take their strays to the SPCA of Texas’ Ellis County Animal Care Center.

Keep in mind that it is very easy for your pet to wander across city limits and either enter another city or be picked up in the county. It is very important that you check with neighboring cities for your lost pet as well as the SPCA of Texas’ Ellis County Animal Care Center.

The below pets are currently under stray hold with the SPCA of Texas’ Ellis County Animal Care Center. If they are not claimed by their owners within 72 hours (3 days), they will be evaluated for placement or adoption. As always, the SPCA of Texas does not euthanize for time or space. For more information about the SPCA of Texas' policies, check out our FAQ.

If you believe any of the below animals to be yours, please contact us at 972-935-0756 or email us at lostpet@spca.org. Please note that there is a $20 reclaim fee and owners will have the option for their animals to be microchipped and spayed/neutered prior to reclaiming.

To support the important work the SPCA of Texas does, please consider making a one-time gift or making a monthly gift. With your gift, you are providing critical support for animals in Ellis County and throughout North Texas.
